Mt. Bogong, Victoria's highest mountain

Leave your car at Mountain Creek, there are no roads on this mountain.  It will take you about 4 hours to climb to the top.

the sweet smelling Peppermint forest covers the lower level of the mountain then you climb into the gum barked Alpine Ash forest at last we meet the cloud drenched Snow Gums
at lower levels most of the plants have finishes flowering, the Lobelia is an exception at last we reach the treeless summit .. but keep your eye on the snow poles as the cloud descends the Alpine daisies light the way
walk towards the Cleve Cole campsite and you will see the twist of the Big River the daisies line the streams and bogs of the alpine plains Howmans falls is a beautiful side trip from Cleve Cole .. but be sure to climb to the bottom of the falls
